Successful Trading Software

"Trading software should be selected
according to pedigree."

Most traders do not have the time or inclination to delve deeply into the technicalities of trading software products.

But they want to know their software does what it should do and they want to be able to rely on the trading techniques employed.

How would you go about this?

The obvious question to ask is - "do successful commodity traders use it?"

You would want to know if the software was all you needed to evaluate any systems you might wish to trade.

You would also want to be certain you could comfortably delegate your live trading to a computer, running this same software.

You might want to go into the details of what the software does - how portfolio management works, what risk management consists of and what money management is doing.

Depending on the type of person you are, you might want to know the technical 'in and outs' of the software or you might be quite happy just knowing that other successful traders use it. That is your personal choice and it doesn't matter much either way, as long as you know you can trust it.

Being comfortable with your system is the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to giving yourself the best chances of success - because the most important thing for you as a commodity trader is to follow your system. You'll only follow your system if you are happy with it.

The best way to ensure you select good trading software is by restricting your choice to the same products that are used by successful professional traders.

Inadequate software is the last thing a system trader wants.
